About Set Apart Home Solutions

Craftsmanship Built Through Experience, Detail, and Dedication

My name is Marcus Stanley, and I founded Set Apart Home Solutions with one goal:
to deliver honest, detailed, high-quality craftsmanship for homeowners who want the job done right the first time.

For nearly two decades, I worked hands-on in residential construction — building additions from the ground up. That means I’ve done everything: framing, roofing, structural work, insulation, drywall, tile, flooring, finish carpentry, electrical/fixture swaps, and all the fine details it takes to turn a blueprint into a finished, livable space.

Because of that background, I don’t just “install things.”
I understand how a home is built, how every part connects, and what must be done to make a remodel structurally sound, waterproof, level, durable, and beautiful.

Most contractors are good at one thing.
I became good at everything a remodel requires.

Note: The following photos showcase Marcus’s past construction experience, including additions and large-scale builds completed before founding Set Apart Home Solutions. These projects demonstrate his craftsmanship and leadership capability, but we no longer offer full home additions.

A History Built on Hands-On Skill

I began construction work in the early 2010s, quickly moving from helper to lead installer. Over the years, I designed and executed full additions — including foundations, framing, interior finishes, and final detail work.

That experience trained my eye for detail and gave me:

  • A deep understanding of structural integrity

  • The ability to spot problems before they happen

  • High standards for quality and precision

  • Respect for craftsmanship and the homeowner’s investment

  • The discipline to do every step correctly — not quickly

When I transitioned into interior remodeling, all those skills came with me.
That’s why my tile lines are straight, my trim joints are tight, my drywall is clean and smooth, and my remodels look as good behind the walls as they do in front of them.

Why I Created Set Apart Home Solutions

Set Apart Home Solutions wasn’t just created as a business — it was built as a commitment. A commitment to my five children, to the homeowners I serve, and to myself as a man striving to live with honesty, integrity, and purpose.

After nearly two decades in residential construction, I saw firsthand how many people were left disappointed by rushed work, poor communication, and contractors who cut corners. Homes were being remodeled without care, without respect, and without any sense of honor for the people living in them. I knew there needed to be something different — something set apart.

As a father, everything I do reflects the example I want to give to my children:
work hard, tell the truth, take care of people, and do everything with excellence.
I want them to see that a man’s word still means something, that craftsmanship matters, and that integrity shows up in both the big decisions and the quiet details.

So I created this company to represent exactly that.

Set Apart Home Solutions is more than a name — it’s a standard.
It means showing up when I say I will.
It means communicating clearly and honestly.
It means doing the job right, even when no one is watching.
It means treating every home with respect and care.
And it means taking pride in leaving something better than I found it.

Every project I take on — whether a small repair or a full remodel — is done with the same mindset:
Be honorable in all that you touch.
Take the extra step.
Make it straight.
Make it clean.
Make it last.
Make it something my children would be proud to see.

This business allows me to support my family while serving other families with the same level of respect I give my own. I don’t just build or repair homes — I build trust, one project at a time.

That is why Set Apart Home Solutions exists:
To provide homeowners with truthful guidance, honest work, and craftsmanship that reflects real pride and purpose.

So you can see exactly how your project is built — no mystery, no shortcuts.

✔ Respect for your home

I show up on time, communicate clearly, protect your space, and clean up daily.

✔ Professionalism and reliability

I follow through, I keep my word, and I finish what I start.

A Track Record of Quality You Can See

As you look through the before-and-after photos of my previous work as a subcontractor, you’ll notice one thing immediately — attention to detail has always been my standard. Whether it was building a full addition or transforming a single room, I’ve always believed that craftsmanship should look like it belonged there from the start.

Perfect lines, precise cuts, tight joints, matching eaves, and clean finishes aren’t extras —
they’re the foundation of quality work.

While I no longer build full additions, the experience of constructing entire homes and structures gave me something invaluable:

✔ The skill to do almost any part of a remodel with confidence

✔ The ability to troubleshoot and prevent problems before they happen

✔ The discipline to make every detail clean, level, straight, and intentional

Every project I take on today benefits from those years of hands-on construction.
That’s why homeowners trust Set Apart Home Solutions — because everything I build is done with the same pride, precision, and professionalism I’ve carried throughout my entire career.

Let’s Build Something You’ll Be Proud Of

If you’re considering a remodel or need repairs done with true craftsmanship, I’d love to help.

From repairs to full remodels, my work is built to last — and built to stand out.

Testimonials

“Marcus completely transformed our master bathroom in 2023. Our previous bathroom had serious issues — rotted flooring, a failed floor joist, and multiple structural problems — but he handled every challenge with skill and confidence. He is polite, hardworking, and incredibly detail-oriented. The quality of his work exceeded our expectations, and he always kept our needs as the top priority. South Carolina’s loss is Illinois’ gain.”
